A silversmithing tradition since 1914

Our founder, the late Shimon Netaf, was born in 1914 into a family of silversmiths and learned the craft as a child. In time he came to be recognised as one of the great silver artisans of his generation — among them craftsmen who had worked for the royal court.

Shimon Netaf came to the Land of Israel with his family in 1947, and asked his sons to follow their father's path. He taught them the exacting, demanding work of silversmithing — kiddush cups, spice boxes, mezuzahs, menorahs, tefillin and Torah scrolls.

Today the studio specialises in a distinctive range of work. Some pieces preserve the techniques and forms of ancient treasures; others carry modern influences. Many are one of a kind, made for synagogues and private collectors around the world.

More recently we've added another dimension to the art of Judaica — a new line of fine wood-and-silver pieces. You can see the museum-quality work in our showroom at Sapir Center, Jerusalem.

In recognition of that quality, the studio was chosen by the Temple Institute to reconstruct the sacred vessels used in the Tabernacle of the Temple.
